The regulation document where the conditions to achieve this registered mark are specified is the Öko-Tex Standard 100. Products to be labelled are categorised into four distinct product classes. A product class is a group of different articles categorised according to their intended use. In the different product classes, components of finished articles at all stages (fibres, yarns, fabrics) as well as accessories may be certified as well as the finished products themselves. The product classes differ generally in the requirements that the products have to fulfil and by the test methods applied.
